Jurei Jetphie & Flowshine
Formed in February 2009, Jurei Jetphie & Flowshine crashed onto the music scene behind the wheel of weathered suburban with a raised tire and a missing window. Based out of Calgary, they offer a diverse mix of ...love and lust over top of spiritualistic rhythms.

Beginning at shindigs, open mics, and dive bars, Jurei and Jeremiah molded their sound swiftly and without mercy. Rhythm and melody collided when Craka Brown was added to the lineup giving the songs a dash of percussive spice. With influences ranging from Devin Townsend to Jose Gonzalez, the trio displayed an intricate blend of sound, but established a vibe unique to them.

They packed themselves into EvoLucian Studios in March to record the six track, aptly titled EP "Smooth Quivers" with producer Elijah Lucian. In under five hours and with the blessing of musician Emily Lamb's vocal presence on two tracks, the recording was completed. The EP's title describes the vocal contrast between Jetphie and Flow, as well as the physical reaction the band hoped the music could achieve. "Smooth Quivers" was well received and the band saw the stock of the disc quickly wane.

Four months had passed when the acoustic visionaries decided that it was their duty to appease the ears of the masses yet again. July 2009 saw our heroes re-join the likes of Lamb and Lucian in the studio to create the monstrosity of a record now known as "Seeds".

The war for sensational sound was not easily won; the musical pie needed more filling. Legend has it a lone musician stepped out of the shadows and into the studio during the last days of the conflict, a happening that can only be attributed to destiny; Erik Smistad and his dancing bass joined the ranks of Flowshine and turned the tide of battle. Giving the songs more backbone than 'The Man with No Name', his lines fill out the mosaic of sound, taking listeners through an emotional cyclone.

"Seeds" showcases honest music from hardworking individuals with a passion to play.
