Singer-guitarist Rykka’s wallet just got a little harder to close after taking home the $102,700 grand prize for the 2013 Peak Performance Project in Vancouver, BC last night. Rykka is thrilled beyond belief for this incredible honour. “It was such an amazing overall experience. It still hasn't sunken in yet. The whole night was so surreal. There was so much love and support. I'm so honoured to have shared the stage with Bestie and Hannah Epperson. The Peak Performance Project has shone an incredible light on the BC and Canadian music scene. With the money I plan to head back into the studio to work on my sophomore album….oh and maybe expand my shoe collection!! Haha!”
Earlier this month Rykka was announced in the top three along with Hannah Epperson and Bestie, vying for the top prizes of $102,700, $75,000 and $50,000 for first, second and third place. The prizes were handed out last night at the big finale at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.
