Tickets are $30 for all four days or $10 per show. The passes are available at Blueprint and Henotic, or daily entry available at the door. Each night
will showcase 7-8 bands on alternating stages (upstairs in the GCBC and downstairs in Henotic), with bands playing shorter sets aimed at showcasing their sounds.
Lots of bands you probably haven’t heard yet, but take a chance and you might find your next favourite band.
Wednesday October 14
Hot Blood Bombers (Regina, SK) – This is the third time Hot Blood Bombers
have come to Lethbridge in 2009, and there is a reason we keep bringing
them back. Tight, danceable rock and roll with a heavy blues influence –
these guys bring the house down every time they play here. Total crowd
pleasers, these guys are rising stars on the Canadian touring circuit,
having gone coast to coast three times this year. Not to be missed! http://www.myspace.com/hotblood
Miesha and the Spanks (Calgary, AB) – Calgary’s Miesha Louie is, along
with the Hot Blood Bomers, a road warrior at heart. Her songs are
stick-in-your head catchy, and with her soaring voice, she is gaining
recognition across Canada as a force to be reckoned with (she’s been in the
top 30 nationally since her latest album came out in September). http://www.myspace.com/mandthespanks
Vincat (Victoria, BC) - Vincat are a 3 piece psych-pop band who have
toured coast to Coast a number of times (pretty sure this is their second
time in Lethbridge). Loved them the few times I’ve seen them – really unique
songs, a huge, encapsulating sonic force to be reckoned with. http://www.myspace.com/vincat
Fox-Opera (Calgary, AB) The Fox Opera are unlike any indie band on theCalgary scene, in that they are actually unafraid to take risks! Imagine
Skull Train to Hell Town! (Lethbridge, AB) – Oh yeah, this band is one
that I am easily most excited about in this whole festival. From the ashes
of The New Danger Kids and The Creationists come this new band who are a
sure-fire hit. I haven’t even heard a single note, nor do I have any idea
what this is gonna sound like (though I have an idea), but I know I am going
to love this. You will too.
The Necessities (Lethbridge, AB) – From a simpler time come our own folk
power-trio. Remember when musicians focused on writing good songs? The thing
that I love about The Necessities is how quintessentially Lethbridge they
are, and because I love this city, take that as the highest compliment. http://www.myspace.com/thenecessities
Smokestack Jacks (Lethbridge, AB) – Smokestack Jacks are a new(-ish)
Blues-rock band burning up the scene, and have been making their name being
a band who other bands don’t want to play after because of how much they
destroy live. Can’t wait! http://www.myspace.com/smokestackjacks
