RYAN RUIN (b. 1977 in Kenora ON) fell hard for punk rock one fateful afternoon in the St Thomas Aquinas high school parking lot, when his friend Renie Whiting (1977-2002 ) played him the FACE TO FACE album Big Choice. When Ryan heard the song “You Lied,” he knew from that moment that music was his calling. Ryan learned to play guitar, and shortly afterwards met fellow Kenora boy G-TONE (b. Guy David McDonald in 1978). They formed the three-piece band POWER TRIP in 1993 and played years in the local scene, until Ryan moved to Vancouver BC in 1999. G-TONE formed the three-piece metal band DREADS OF FLESH in 1999 and played the Northwestern Ontario circuit throughout the 2000’s. In 2007 G-Tone was a founding member of EAT MY AXE WOUND, a five-piece metal band also based out of Kenora. Meanwhile in Vancouver, Ryan had formed two bands: the political punk FIASCO, and the cock-rock KINGZ OF SLEEZ. Then in 2010 G-Tone moved to Vancouver as well, and they began planning a new musical project together. In February 2011 they found the  missing piece of the puzzle in drummer JAMIESON VEGAS (b. Jamieson Cleary in Antigonish NS in 1973). Jamieson began drumming at 11-years-old, and he began skateboarding in 1986. It was his passion for skating  and snowboarding and thrill-seeking of all kinds that eventually lured him to the mountain resort  community of Whistler BC, three hours north of Vancouver. The new trio spend a year crafting a rock-solid set and playing all over the greater Vancouver area.

  • In the spring of 2012, SHOCKLOAD rented a rehearsal room at the notorious Iron Road Studios, where Jamieson and G-Tone were immediately recruited into Vancouver super-group LITTLE GUITAR ARMY. (Even after the demise of L.G.A., Jamieson and G-Tone continue to moonlight in other local bands, notably the STRUGGLERS and the SPREE KILLERS.) It was also at Iron Road Studios where SHOCKLOAD met audio engineer/producer BRIAN “WHO” ELSE, who would
eventually record their debut CD Attractive Distraction. In a relatively short period of time, this transplanted trio from the East have become local favourites in the Vancouver scene, with their own loyal audience eager to soak up every live moment watching them rocking the shit out of intimate local clubs — because
it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world finds out about SHOCKLOAD; and when that happens, the clubs and audiences will only get bigger and bigger — and then one day we’ll be able to say, with justifiable pride, “We saw them back in the day...”

that's what it's all about :
"shit talk"
The act of speaking about non-sense in a random manner. Typically shit talk consists of topics such as sex, politics, hobbies, humour or random daily events. Laced with a high amount of profanity and crudeness shit talk is usually not acceptable in a professional setting or in the proximity of adolescents.

Shit talk has no boundaries or limits and its main focus is entertainment and a laugh
