This is likely the last show for local indie rock/ jazz band the Record Holder before two of the members leave Lethbridge for other opportunities.
We were happy with the name 'Chinook County Events Band' thinking it would draw diverse crowds to the Slice bar and Grill, the club in Lethbridge where we play. But then on the bus I ran into Mary-Anne McTrowe and found out that one of her Ukulele bands already had a very similar name. So we went with Notned's ipod, which is 'denton' backwards, and inspired by the Denton Fredrickson whose playlist contained many of the songs we covered. Soon, however, we had written enough original songs to play full shows of our own work. We then changed our name to 'The Record Holder' which stuck. Now, we have completed out first cd. We are brothers Michael and John Granzow. Two and a half years ago, drummer Sandeep Mishra joined us. Then Nicole Hembroff shortly thereafter joined in with her violin and vocals. We are all graduate students at the University of Lethbridge. Sandeep and John are in Psychology, Michael in Sociology and Nicole in Religious Studies. Our songs are about old photographs, jobs, disappearing acts, heartbreak, the economy, facebook, entropy, marketing, coal, vitamin B deficiency, word play, and indiscretion (in that order on the cd). Thank you for listening.

Not only do we have the best pizza in town, we are also the center of Lethbridge's NightLife.
We are the only bar in town featuring live music every day of the week. Canadian touring artists, local legends and new emerging artists, everyone stops here.
