Second Annual 6th Street Block Party Returns to Downtown Lethbridge
Lethbridge, AB - After a successful first year in September 2023, the 6th Street Block Party returns for a second year in one month’s time. The community is invited to kick off the summer at the Second Annual 6th Street Block Party on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from Noon-10:30PM at Festival Square.
Organizers are excited to welcome WESTCO Construction as this year’s presenting sponsor of the event. Their support and commitment play a large role in allowing this event to happen for a second year. Organizers also note that with unprecedented excitement and growth from vendors and party-goers, this year’s event will be shutting down a third street, in addition to the two streets shut down last year.
The event will be shutting down the two streets connecting Festival Square, and a third to expand the market. The closure takes place from 7:00AM-12:00AM on June 15, 2024 and includes 3rd Avenue from 5th to 7th Street, 6th Street from 3rd to 4th Avenue, and 4th Avenue from 6th to 7th Street.
The Block Party was designed to showcase Southern Alberta’s local businesses and talent. It will have a poker run encouraging party-goers to visit many downtown Lethbridge businesses, live entertainment, food vendors, a market, kids’ and community zone, and a beer garden.
This event is made possible by various community partners including WESTCO Construction, ATB, Bakers Appliances, Downtown BRZ, King of Trade, Analog Books, Sandman Signature, Café Noir, Burki Tunall Real Estate Team and Onyx Realty, ENMAX Centre, Warwick Printing, Real Canadian Superstore, and Gas King.
The Festival Square Stage is set to host various artists with a diverse range of genre, headlined by local musician, Cody Hall. It will also have a Q&A with Canadian authors Genevieve Graham and Dale Leckie.
