THE 80S CLUB BRINGS THE PARTY ACROSS CANADA IN FALL 2024

Catch radical performances by Honeymoon Suite, A Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats, and Spoons at ENMAX Centre this November.

Wednesday, May 29, 2024

It’s time to bust out your neon scrunchies, put on your acid wash jeans, and tease your hair up high! After a few sellout shows earlier this year, The 80s Club is going cross-country and it’s going to be radical! Honeymoon Suite, A Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats, and Spoons join forces for an epic tour filled with nostalgic classics.

Coming to ENMAX Centre, Lethbridge on November 15, these iconic 80s bands will be playing all their massive hits!

“This tour is exciting for us in so many ways,” shares Gord Deppe of Spoons. “It's the first time we've toured the country from coast to coast in decades, performing some places we haven't been to since the 80s! On top of that, I get to play with my own group Spoons, as well as with my new bandmates A Flock of Seagulls. There will never be another decade like the 80s and this line up of acts represents it in a most stellar way!”

Honeymoon Suite lit Canadian radio on fire in the 80s with amazing sing along hits including “Stay in the Light,” “New Girl Now,” “Feel it Again,” “Wave Babies,” and “Burning in Love.” After winning a Toronto radio song contest back in '83, they hit the ground running and never looked back! Whether they're headlining festivals or touring with the likes of April Wine, Billy Idol or Bryan Adams, these chart-toppers always put on a great show that will keep a crowd on their feet from beginning to end.

A Flock of Seagulls hails from England and is led by singer Mike Score. AFOS is a Grammy Award-winning new wave act with massive hits like “I Ran (So Far Away)” and “Space Age Love Song.” Heralded as both musical and style icons (you’re undoubtedly familiar with the Flock of Seagulls haircut!), this group is still referenced in pop culture today.

When it comes to iconic 80s pop songs, you'll be hard pressed to find two more globally recognized hits than Men Without Hat’s “The Safety Dance and “Pop Goes the World!” For that, Ivan Doroschuk recently had the honour of being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Men Without Hats consistently delivers a bounce out of your seat, high-energy performance that is guaranteed to leave everyone wanting more!

Formed in 1980, Spoons was an intrepid young band from Burlington, Ontario that went on to make "Spoons" a different kind of household word. Defining the sound of Canadian 80s pop, their album Arias & Symphonies was named one of the 20 Most Influential Albums of the 80s by The Chart Magazine.Darlings of Much Music, Spoons brought us the incredibly memorable Canadian hits “Romantic Traffic,” “Old Emotions,” and “Nova Heart.”

Don’t miss this wicked throwback! Ivan Doroschuk of Men Without Hats says it best:

“Come join us with our good friends Honeymoon Suite, A Flock of Seagulls, and Spoons this November! We can’t wait to ‘Safety Dance’ together again!”
