"Nadia's music stops time. I swear to God. Her beauty and sincerity,
onstage and off, demands that the world stop and take a look"...
Originally
from Quesnel, BC, Nadia von Hahn has gone from high school eccentric,
to musical theater maniac, and finally, a powerhouse songstress, all in a
few short years. After packing her bags, and cutting off her
teenaged-dreadlocks, this small town girl graduated as class
Valedictorian from The Canadian College of Performing Arts, in Victoria.
There she received a scholarship from the Canadian Heritage Arts
Society, for her work in classical voice, acting, and musical theater. A
diverse performer, Nadia has taken her layered artistic background and
infused her own songwriting with playful drama, wistful sincerity, and
stubborn hope.
Described as “cinematic”, and “an ethereal
powerhouse”, this young performer is poised at the beginning of an
exciting career. From dramatic piano balladry to cheeky retro-pop, her
distinct luxurious vocals and empathetic lyrics are a gracious hostess
to a wide audience. Her relentlessly hummable melodies, and courageously
sensitive sound have drawn comparisons to Sarah Slean, Tori Amos,
Regina Spektor, and even Feist . Her unique fusion of pop, folk, and
theatrical sensibilities have combined to create a style that is both
entirely current, and completely timeless.
In 2008, Nadia started
recording her debut album in Victoria BC, until one night she received a
devastating e-mail. Someone had broken into the studio, and the
computer was taken. There were no back-ups. Everything was gone, just
when it was nearly finished. “More than anything I was in shock,
thinking about the time and energy that was lost, special moments in the
recordings you just can't re-create. But, eventually, the experience
taught me that starting over can be a good thing, and now I'm stronger
for it. I'll be releasing a very different album soon, and I pretty much
feel ready to take on the world.”
Nadia recently finished
production on her debut EP "Wait And See What Happens", with producer
Winston Hauschild (Hannah Georgas), at FaderMaster Studios in Vancouver,
to be released Oct. 5, 2010.

Bodhi Jones spent his early years with his mother and sister on
Saltspring Island. He affectionately refers to it as a "1980's hippie
paradise” and says spending his childhood there was an "amazingly
magical experience". Shortly after his tenth birthday he and his mom
moved from Saltspring to Vancouver in search of greater opportunity,
during this time Bodhi felt overwhelmed by the big city and became very
isolated. He was often sick and spent a lot of time home alone...it was
during these pre-teen years that he discovered his passion for music.
Over the past 6 years, Bodhi has recorded 5 EP’s and 3 full length
albums, selling over 12 000 copies while performing on the streets of
downtown Vancouver. In 2009 Bodhi was selected as Virgin Radio's "BC
artist of the month", voted into The Peak Performance Project's Top 20,
and named Vancouver's best busker by The Georgia Straight. 2010 has
brought even more exposure his way: Earning a second consecutive
selection in The Peak Performance Project's Top 20 and being voted into
Red Robinson's Talent Show Down. He's also receiving airplay on 100.5
The Peak, CBC Radio One, Virgin, The Shore, Citr, CJSFU, with live
performances on CTV's Canada Am and Global's Morning Show during the
2010 Winter Olympics.
In September of 2010 Bodhi will be releasing a new full length album
titled "Where Does The Time Go?" Produced by Winston Hauschild (Hannah
Georgas) and mixed by Shawn Cole (Bend Sinister, Yukon Blonde, and You
Say Part! We Say Die!), this latest effort is a big step up sonically
and brings to light, Bodhi's heart, honesty, and song writing ability.
He's just completed his first western Canada tour and is planning a
Cross-Canada tour this October in support of his new album and up coming
music Video release.
