Over a hundred artists from six different guilds, the pottery guild, woodworking guild, stained glass guild, Lethbridge Artists Guild, and the surface textiles guild,  have been working hard all year to create new items to help you get Christmas shopping done early.

There will be an assortment of pottery, stained glass, a variety of woodworking, a plethora of textiles based art including afghans, tea towels, place mats, baby blankets, clothing, scarves,  mittens and much more including bags and a variety of light and eye catching stained class creations.

“There will be 100 plus artists, ” said Lethbridge handicrafts guild member, Karla Mather-Cocks.

“This is a huge event for us. And it allows us to bring art to the community and allows the community to come the artists and get some items for the holiday season,” she said.

In addition to sales, there will also be art demonstrations for everybody interested the artistic process.
In addition to  have items for sale, it is also an opportunity for artisans to connect with these guilds and find out how to join them if they are interested in learning new skills and meeting people with similar interests.

“What’s great about it is the community gets to speak one-on-one with the artists. It really does promote arts in the community,” Mather- Cocks continued.

Mather- Cocks, who has been involved with the event for the past four years, always looks forward to seeing all of the new projects the artists have come up with.
“ They’re always new and different,” she continued.

The shows runs 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Bowman Arts Centre 811 5 Ave South.
