There are a couple of excellent shows happening to kick off 2013.
Stoke folk band Shred Kelly return to the Slice, Jan. 5 to get those toes tapping and feet on the dance floor. They always have fantastic turnouts in Lethbridge and bring frenetic energy and good vibes to the party.

And if you like DJs, renown DJ Steve “Kid Millionaire” Aoki comes to Pulse, Jan. 6.

In addition to touring the U.S., the Santa Barbara born DJ is a regular fixture in the Los Angeles area as he has a regular Tuesday night gig at Cinespace in Los Angeles and had  provided the soundtrack to the party at Los Angeles club LAX and New York City’s Marquee club.

He also runs respected indie label Dim Mak which birthed bands like the Kills, Pretty Girls Make Graves and the Von Bondies and may others. Tickets are $49.99 regular or $74.99 VIP.

If you want to rock in the new year, Planet Telex plays the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Jan. 4. they bring in Jay Bowcott, Jan. 5.
And just because Christmas is over, it doesn’t mean you should stop thinking about other people.

The Lethbridge food banks still need help, so there will be a special concert for them, Jan. 5 at McKillop United Church.
Moon Dancer will be playing some popular rock music  and originals with special guests, the Southern Accord Chorus.
The show begins at 2 p.m., at McKillop United Church. Admission is $10 or 10 pounds of food. There will also be  the chance to bid on the services of Mayor Rajko Dodic and alderman Jeff Coffman. All proceeds will be donated to both food banks.
