Matthew Robinson plays newer songs to full house

E-mail Print PDF

Matthew Gerard Robinson is a local musician whose sets I keep missing, but was pleased to catch him at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Dec. 9.

Robinson and bassist Tyson Maiko and drummer Kyle Harmon were playing for a full house.

It sounded like they were playing a lot of new songs or at least songs I hadn’t heard before.

Robinson began the set trying to get  his acoustic guitar to sound right, but gave up and played electric for the bulk of the set.
His sound sounded like a mix of Radiohead meeting alt country bands like Wilco and Uncle Tupelo.
