6p.m.—  DNR DNR is a local band whose origin goes back to 2006 when two ER physicians, Wes Orr (guitar) and
Kevin Martin (drums) got together for some relaxed jam sessions to alleviate some of the daily stress of
life in a busy emergency department.  They were able to recruit some co-workers to round out the band
and after some comings and goings, have settled on the current line-up of  Orr, Martin, Colleen
West (RN and vocals), Morley Wong (internist and guitar) and Rob Strank (family doctor and bass).
Their repertoire ranges from the 1960’s to current- day “Top 40’s” and is constantly expanding.
While once playing for smaller private hospital- related functions only they are now taking their
raw, guitar-driven sound to much larger appreciative crowds in some of the local bars.
While they won’t be quitting their day jobs anytime soon this musical side-line continues to be a
welcome relief from the rigors of life in the health- care profession.

7:45: Fast Times

“Fast Times” has been delighting Lethbridge audiences for over three years with their
powerful vocals, tight harmonies, energy and commanding presence.  With both female and
male lead vocals they cover an enormous range of well loved music, from the simple
sounds of 1950’s country to the pounding rhythms of 21st  century rock n’ roll.  Whatever
your entertainment needs are, “Fast Times” delivers!”  www.fast-timesband.com

9:30 p.m. Shane Yellowbird www.shaneyellowbird.com  or www.myspace.com/shaneyellowbird

Shane Yellowbird burst onto the country music scene in 2006 with the release of his debut album “Life Is
Calling My Name”. Garnering four Top-10 radio singles and videos, the CD led Yellowbird to countless awards and accolades, including the  coveted CCMA award for "Rising Star of the Year,"  the "Best Country Recording" award at the Native  American Music Awards (for North America), and the "Aboriginal Entertainer of the Year" award at the  Aboriginal People's Choice Awards (for North America).
In November 20, 2009 Yellowbird released his  sophomore album, “It’s About Time”, and made his first appearance on the hallowed stage of the Grand  Ole Opry in Nashville. The performance marked Yellowbird’s entrance to the US market, with plans to release his music and videos in America in 2010.

Growing up in Hobbema, Canada, Yellowbird, who is Cree, was a typical cowboy. His parents participated in the rodeo circuit and their son learned early on to rope and ride, fully embracing the cowboy lifestyle and accepting that it would one day be his future.

A strange twist of circumstances, however, put Yellowbird on the country music path. Born with a severe stuttering problem, he began seeing a speech therapist who suggested that he sing his sentences to help him speak clearly. The technique proved successful. So successful, in fact, that Yellowbird began entering and winning several singing contests. The life of this cowboy quickly turned away from roping and riding and moved toward that of another dream, being a successful country music artist.

Yellowbird is proud of his country roots and still breaks horses and competes in calf-roping whenever he can. But given the exceptional fan response to his music, his future seems destined to deliver more outstanding country music on both sides of the Border. www.shaneyellowbird.com
