Having strummed since the sixth grade on his grandfather’s guitar, Price landed his first gigs at age fifteen. First influenced by pop, punk and heavy metal, Price discovered jazz music through the intensity and spirituality of John Coltrane. At age 19, Price began his formal studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Upon his return to Winnipeg, Price turned down a scholarship at New School University in New York City and opted instead to stay in Steve Kirby’s newly established jazz program at the University of Manitoba. He has also studied in Boston with renewed guitar guru Mick Goodrick. Over the last five years Price has played professionally with numerous groups including the Ron Paley Big Band, the WJO, The RWB, Rainbow Stage, and Manitoba Artists in Health Care. Price released his debut album, "Breakfast Of Champions", in the fall of '09. The album reached #5 on both the earshot and chartattack jazz charts and he was nominated for Td Grand Prix du Jazz and The Galaxie Rising Star award at this year's Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Michael Peters http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=111496

Born and raised in a hockey town (pop'n 485), Michael Peters is a farm boy who grew up listening to ’Satisfaction’ on AM radio in the grain truck and faking sick on Sunday mornings so he could be home alone with the guitar. A dedicated flatpicker as well as folk/rock type, Peters has recently relocated to Toronto where he is finding his way into both the singer/songwriter and bluegrass scenes.

Peters released his solo debut in 2007.  Mixed by Paul James (Christine Fellows, Luke Doucet), the album is ambient acoustic music. Beautiful contributions made by Ron Halldorson (Lenny Breau Trio) and Bill Western (Nathan) on pedal steel, and Kimberley McMechan on vocals.  Featuring fan-favorite 'Dark Star,' it's a record for listeners who typically find short answers misleading.

His latest album 'Etherised', produced by guitarist Keith Price, with the rhythm section of Julian Bradford (Grammy-nominated bassist!) and Curtis Nowsad (drums), and mixed by Jordan Jackiew, is set to be released in March 2011. Moving from Steve Earle-inspired twang through acoustic ballads to ethereal rock 'n roll, these songs are preoccupied with little stories of loss and the big questions that follow.

In the past year Peters has shared stages with indie-folk giants like The Undesirables, C.R. Avery, and Keri Latimer of Nathan. Equally at home at bluegrass jam nights and songwriters circles, Michael Peters brings a wide-ranging musical background to his solo work.

"Michael took the stage and howled through the room like a fresh wind...exciting and full of promise."
- David Francey (3-time JUNO Award winner)

"Impressive guitar work...dexterous finger-picking and strong songwriting." - The Uniter
