Haunting melodies, dusty pedal steel soaked country, and songs reminiscent of simpler times; The Hollerin’ Pines, Winnipeg’s latest roots outfit, embodies honest folk sensibilities with the feel of a warm lakeside campfire. Led by songwriters Scott Malcolmson, and Haley Carr, the band released their debut EP, Winnipeg Winter, in February 2011. Since then, the band has grown, adding rich 5 part vocal harmonies, unique percussion, fiddle and upright bass. What began as good friends jamming around a campfire, evolved into a six piece roots collective.
