From the depths of the very wildest of Kootenay woods, a turntable legend has emerged. Known for his eclectic style Bryx’s cuts and scratches have earned him a place among the greats that few can rival.
Coming from a background of hip hop, Bryx got his start as a turntablist and a self proclaimed “mashup junkie” before developing a taste for the more bass heavy sounds. Always keeping it fresh and not limiting himself to any particular style or sound, he’s scratched and beat juggled his way to a win at the Redbull 3Style competition & in addition to being voted locally as the Top DJ at the KMA Kootenay Music Awards. A well known face at events such as the Shambhala Music Festival and Telus Worl Ski Video Festival, Bryx is a DJ’s DJ that always delivers engaging live sets. Taking influences from a broad range of styles, his sets are filled with treasures and it’s not uncommon to hear sound bites from folks like Bob Ross or David Attenborough in his sets.
In addition to his skills behind the wheels of steel, Bryx has held down top spots in the charts (including Juno Charts among others) for his production. His releases have included vinyl pressings and he’s caught the attention of everyone from Nick Thayer to ASKillz, Z-Trip to DJ Numark and more! Dabbling in sounds, his tracks are inspired by everything from blue grass to political topics, all set to a bass line backdrop. If anything is for certain, it’s that Bryx doesn’t fit into a box!
