Roll up the Killers, Springsteen, Kings of Leon, Tom Petty and John Mayer into 1 and you would get something like American songwriter Luke Dowler. A Montana native, Dowler has toured across the US and Canada with a blue collar work ethic – over 110 shows a year landing national distro thru EMI, radio airplay and multiple licensing deals. Never confined by style, Dowler focuses on a ‘song is king’ approach which has resounded with a dedicated online and physical fan base.

From playing his first US show in a packed out Montana barn on a cold February night, to touring up and down North America in a van with no gas gauge or heat, Dowler has never been one to back down to adversity. So when his record deal came to a close in early 2013, Dowler chose to return to his independent roots launching a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund his latest project.

On his newest EP “WEST”, Dowler brings forth some of his most inventive and honest music to date. “As I moved back into the role of independent artist, I wanted to explore new sounds and themes” says Dowler. “That’s where the title of the record came from. It’s expansion. It’s new frontier.” Live, Dowler has cultivated a reputation for his distinctive vocals and Dowler’s emotive voice has never been more evident than on “WEST”. Showcasing a variety of influences and genres, the music is both fresh and familiar while holding true to the gritty honesty that is evident throughout all Luke Dowler’s projects. The rock and roll singer-songwriter is unapologetic in trying to write great songs. “I try write each song as if it’s my last” says Dowler; and that commitment is evident in this new EP.

Gaining college radio airplay in markets across North America, furthering partnerships with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity & International Justice Mission, and touring relentlessly; Luke Dowler is an artist to watch in 2014.
