EAGLE LAKE OWLS (Winnipeg MB - Indie Folk)

BIO: Eagle Lake Owls sing songs about long winters and endless summers,
filtered through a dusty car window. Electric guitars clash above
cello, keys, and horns, capturing the earnest, often dark imagery of the
Canadian prairies. Delicate harmonies hover above stripped-down
orchestral swells. The quiet moments threaten to birth chaos as songs
sweep from hushed voices to dissonant noise like a prairie storm.
PRESS: "Songs like this are what keep you going through the isolation of a prairie winter" - QuickBeforeItMelts.com
"Eagle Lake Owls have a great twangy, Prairie sound that sort of fits
into the indie-folk crossover genre. Think an acoustic version of The
Dodos or Sufjan Stevens." - CBC Manitoba

BIO: Nick Faye & The Deputies are a band from the deepest depths of
the Canadian Prairies (Regina, SK). They make music that sticks to your
ribs, like a big plate of perogies and sour cream.
The band is
unapologetic in their mission to craft honest and simple pop-rock-folk
songs. They are unreserved in their quest to perform enjoyable music and
deliver awkward stage banter at their live shows. Nick Faye & The
Deputies know their role in the Canadian music scene, and they play it
well.
The band has shared the stage with a mix of notable
artists such as Shad, Arkells, Rah Rah, July Talk, Andy Shauf,
Northcote, Close Talker, Teen Daze, and Good For Grapes. They have
performed at Folk Alliance International, Canadian Music Week, NXNE, and
JunoFest. In 2015, the band was awarded $10,000 to record their next
full length album through Rawlco's 10K20 program and they were selected
as a CBC Searchlight "First Round Standout" by Grant Lawrence.
PRESS: "Regina, Sask., has long been a hot spot for indie-rock greatness
(think Library Voices, Rah Rah and, way back, Despistado). Now you can
add Nick Faye and the Deputies to that list." - Grant Lawrence, CBC
Music
"The Regina quartet have that good ol' Canadian sound
down - think Ryan Adams fronting a prairie-based Arcade Fire." - NXNE
(Toronto, ON)
"Much like his tremendous previous works, The
Last Best West and Harvest, Worry utilizes the young troubadour's
remarkable songwriting to tell the story of an individual having a
mental breakdown as the album progresses.." - The Leader Post (Regina,
SK)
